The updated 2011 Touareg is by far the best looking Touareg to date, and light years ahead of its predecessor. The sporty styling and the pleasant lines makes for a great driving experience.
Interior Quality: 9.5/10
The Touareg had full black anthracite leather interior which was perfect. VW interiors in the past have always been great and this is no different. From the heated seats and steering wheel, to the giant nav screen, you just can’t beat the quality of the materials used.
Driving Experience: 8/10
Driving the Touareg was a great experience, very smooth, gentle ride, Road noise was never an issue. The Supercharged V8 (380hp with 482 lbs of torque) is plenty of power when needed, and at the same time gets incredible gas mileage. While freeway driving I was getting a consistent 27 mpg, and driving around town i was averaging 20-21 mpg. Well worth the price for long term ownership if MPG is a concern.
Affordability: 7/10
Priced at $61,385, the Touareg was a little on the high side I’d say. But on the other hand you’re getting a fully loaded suv that has tremendous power and torque, and also gets great gas mileage for its size.
