2015 Lincoln MKC Debuts with an Evening of Style

The striking concept version of the new Lincoln MKC from Lincoln Motor Company debuted earlier this year at the Detroit Auto Show and now we see the refined production version here in Los Angeles. The team at Lincoln played up the modern style of the new SUV and showed the MKC off at an “Evening of Style” event in addition to the auto show. The event played host to a group of well dressed models and celebrities that paired nicely with the Lincoln MKZ and MKC. The beautiful actress, Nia Long, hosted the affair that featured performances by BLACK WAAT3R and DJ B-Hen.  Lincoln MKC Brand Manager, Jeff Reid, was also a part of the event and offered some discussion on the inspiration for the MKC and the Lincoln lifestyle.

When it comes to the car itself the production vehicles seems to lose some of its more muscular lines and unique characteristics from the concept. I would guess that the SUV’s powerful looks have fallen prey to the engineering team as it now looks slightly closer to the Escape – its counterpart on the Ford side of the family. The finished interior and rear LED lights help to give the MKC something to stand out from the competition and the car may have enough to remain intriguing to any potential buyers.

The 2015 Lincoln MKC will be powered by two 4-cylinder applications varying in size from a 2.0L and 2.3L. The range topping 2.3L Ecoboost will motor you along with 275hp and 300lb-ft of torque – up only 30hp and tq from the base application. The Lincoln MKC will start at only $33,995 and includes some nice party tricks like a Lincoln logo that projects on the ground as you approach your vehicle. Buyers can look for the MKC in the Summer of 2014 and we think the car is a decent option in the entry level crossover market and helps move the Lincoln Motor Company in a more modern direction.
